Merry Christmas Eve !!!!

I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas Eve. Obviously, I feel that our referral of Riley is the best Christmas gift that we could have possibly received. God has truly blessed us in many aspects of our lives, and soon will bless us even more abundantly when we get our son home. I just can't wait to have him in our arms. I pray that he is enjoying his first Christmas is Korea. It is actually Christmas morning there now. I pray that he and his foster family have a blessed Christmas!!!

Our Journey through Adoption

July 8,2008- Meet with first adoption agency
July 10,2008- Told my parents about our plans to adopt
July 13, 2008- Talked with our chosen agency, Adoption Assistance
July 14, 2008- Mailed our application to Adoption Assistance
July 18, 2008- Received 2nd application from Adoption Assistance
July 20, 2008- Worked on application, sent off for our birth and marriage certificates. Also I think we told Troy's parents on this day.
July 23, 2008- Met with Julie from Adoption Assistance to help decide what country and answer general questions.
July 24, 2008- Mailed criminal record and child abuse checks.
July 25, 2008- First home study visit.
July 28, 2008- Mailed I600A
July 31, 2008- Finished online education courses.
August 6, 2008- Had 2nd homestudy visit
August 7, 2008- Received receipt of request for I600A, now awaiting appointment for fingerprinting
August 8, 2008- Recieved initial application from AIAA
August 11,2008- Mailed initial application to AIAA
August 23, 2008- I think this was they day that we received our formal application from AIAA
August 28, 2008- Mailed back formal application to AIAA
September 10,2008- Having trouble with getting our appointment for fingerprinting. Adoption Assistance having to call USCIS
September 11, 2008- Adoption Assitance received email notification that our fingerprinting appointments had never been made. Appointments now set--Finally!!
September 17 & 19, 2008- Troy and I received our fingerprinting appointments, set for September 29th at 10 am
September 25, 2008- Our homestudy was sent to Korea. YEAH!!!
September 29, 2008- Fingerprinted in Louisville
November 4, 2008- Received our I-797C/171H/Fingerprint approval
November 18,2008-Received notice that our I600A had been sent to Korea
December 11, 2008- REFERRAL!!!!!
December 12,2008- Met with NP at pediatrician office to review medical records
December 12, 2008- Called Julie at 5:12 pm and left message that we offically accepted our referral. Later that night, I sent an email.
December 14, 2008- Troy and I decided on the name Riley Choigang Stinson at 4:30 pm
December 22, 2008- Acceptance paperwork sent to Korea
December 30, 2008- More acceptance paperwork sent to Korea
January 4, 2009- We bought a crib!!!
January 8, 2009- Received Legals!!
January 12, 2009- Mailed I600 application
January 23, 2009- Received medical update and pictures
January 24, 2009- Received letter that I600 was being processed
January 31, 2009- Received I600 Approval
February 24, 2009- NVC forwarded I600 to Embassy in Seoul
March 10, 2009- TRAVEL CALL!!!!
March 13,2009- Flew from Cincinatti to Chicago and then to Seoul, Korea
March 14, 2009- Arrived in Korea in the early morning hours
March 15, 2009- Met Riley for the first time
March 17, 2009- GOTCHA!!! Riley is now with his Forever Family!!
March 19, 2009- Arrived back home as a family of 3 !!
